Oh my! You can only imagine what a unique Thanksgiving Day the 3 of us had here in Rome.We began the day by going to St. Cecilia's church. Today is actually her FEAST DAY, so it was an extremely special day to be there. We made it a point to try our best to celebrate Mass there, and it did happen. We celebrated Mass in the crypt, underneath, the church with the remains of her body and her husbands right there with us. Amazing! Blessings!
We then walked & walked & walked! We visited several of the very first churches here in Rome. St. Cecilia, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Santa Sabina, Sant' Anselmo, Sant' Alessio, and Santa Prisca.
It has been getting dark shortly after 5 p.m. We have been invited to a Thanksgiving dinner at the Lay Centre where I did the study during summer 2006. It is fabulous to have friends here in Rome.
Oh my, I just had another fabulous blessing to share. Because I went to Baltimore to the NCEA conference last spring, I saw Cardinal-Archbishop Keeler. He was walking in St. Cecilia's today. Naturally, I went up to him, asked if this was him, introduced myself, etc. etc. And YES, I GOT A PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Truly, God has showered HIS BLESSINGS upon us!
Bye for now!
