Washington, D.C.
For those of you reading this that have gone or WILL GO to Washington, D.C. with Bob as tour guide, you should be THANKFUL!! With me as tour guide, I would take you to ALL of the memorials + Arlington National Cemetery, & 3 Smithsonians in 1 DAY! Yep, 1Day! And we would walk to all of them, using the Metro ONLY when absolutely necessary. That's what my husband & I did. Do you feel sorry for him?
We started out at the Washington Memorial, then on to the WWII, VietNam, Lincoln, Korean War, then lunch & on to the FDR, & Jefferson. We then walked to the Holocaust Memorial Museum, to the Castle which is the information center for the Smithsonians, & then to the Natural History museum. It was then to the Smithsonian metro & on to Arlington National Cemetery, to the Kennedy's grave, & to the 4:30p.m. changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I then realized that Iwo Ima had to be somewhere relatively close, so I asked. Sure enough, didn't seem too far! So, off we went on another hike. From Iwo Ima we walked to the Rosslyn metro & on to our car at a metro stop west of D.C.
That was all in 1 day! Are you happy I'm not the 8th grade tour guide for the D.C. trip?
Many blessings!
An amazing God story to follow!
Love in Christ,

Wednesday Mass
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 9a.m. Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
I walked in yesterday, Tuesday, & there were beautifully radiating sunflower arrangements. Today when I walked in for 9a.m. Mass, the sunflowers were still there along with about 175 Catholic Church students celebrating Mass for their last day of school. There was a prayer, I think the last priest's prayer, was about sowing seeds. God stories?? I was really blessed seeing these students & thinking about all of my awesome students I've had during the last 3 years at JPII.
Many Blessings!

Vacation Thoughts
God is so amazing! Joao & his family gave me a book by Ralph Martin, The Fulfillment of all Desire. I began reading & sit in awe of the Holy Spirit's work in our humble lives. He refers to our 'roadmap to God'. For the 8th graders of 2007 & 2008, this should ring a bell in your mind. One of your final exam essays was to write your 'roadmap to heaven'. He too states as I've said so many times, we will find true fulfillment in life only as we focus our hearts & lives on God.
Wow! And I've only JUST begun the book.
Many thanks to Joao & his family. I look forward to getting to know his brother as a 7th grader in August.
My husband & I are in Myrtle Beach, SC. We went to Mass on Sunday, yesterday, at St. Bede's in Montgomery, Al. This too should ring a bell for anyone who has been on the 8th D.C. trip; 7a.m. Mass at St.Bede's in Williamsburg, VA. Yikes-too early!!!!!!
Many Blessings! Happy Summering! -:)
